MARIA MILASI - Pentedattilo Film Festival

Actress. She graduated at the Accademia D’Arte Drammatica della Calabria - Palmi, artistic director Luciano Lucignani. She attended some residencies for actors at the Dramatic Art Academy in Warsaw (taught by Ryszardo Olesinski, Jan Englert, Stanislaw Gòrka, Wanda Szczuka) and Wien (with the direction of the clown Pierre Byland). Between the workshops, “Il giardino dei ciliegi” directed by the russian teacher Nicolaj Karpoff and “Sogno di una notte di Mezza estate” directed by Steven Berkoff. She acted in many theatre festivals like: classic acient greek plays at Syracuse and at Olimpico Theatre in Vicenza in the play “I sette contro Tebe” directed by Jean Pierre Vincent; the Festival dei due Mari in the Fedra by Seneca, directed by Panici; the international theatre festival in Amsterdam and Berlin playing the role of Egle in the “Disputa” by Marivaux  directed by Franco Però and Alejandra Manini; the co-production between Teatro Croato,  Dramma  Italiano  di  Fiume and Stabile di Calabria in “Regine” by Carbone directed by Nino Mangano; the Magna Graecia Teatro Festival in “Elettra” by Hofmannsthal, etc. The last show she worked on is “Lunga notte di Medea” directed by A. Melchionda, with the role of Medea, premiered at Magna Graecia Teatro Festival. She worked with: Roberto Guicciardini , Walter Manfrè, Mario Prosperi, Marco Maltauro, D.Venuti,  G.Leonetti  Italo F. Marzocchi, Paolo Benvenuti, etc. She acted in pieces by: Pirandello, Cechov, Aristofane, Joppolo, Eschilo, Shakespeare, Cocteau, Pinter, Goldoni, Molière, Hofmannsthal, Larreta, Loddo, Fabbri, Garcia Lorca, Corrado Alvaro, etc. In 2008 she founded the acting company Officine Jonike Arti. She acted as protagonist in several short movies like: L’Umanità  Scalza/The  Barefoot  Humanity directed by A.  Melchionda,  which obtained the Honorable Mention at the Los Angeles Movie Award 2011, the jury mention at the Shqip Film Festival 2012, the best direction award at the New York Filmakers Festival, selected at the 22nd Cinequest Film Festival (Oscar qualifying festival). She is associated of the Ram Film Production and artistic coordinator of the  Pentedattilo Film Festival.
